Summary
Frosinone jumped ahead 1-0 on an early penalty taken by Abdou Harroui. Matteo Politano leveled the score in the 23rd minute with a lovely strike from his left foot off of a volley. The world’s best striker Victor Osimhen dazzled with a pair of goals to seal the three points for the defending champion Napoli.
Key moment: Victor Osihmen with a powerful strike
The most important moment of any game isn’t always the go-ahead goal, but that was the case Sunday when Osimhen delivered a rocket into the back of the net. The sizzling strike not only put Napoli in front 2-1, but announced to the world he remains the most gifted player at his position across any league and is well worth the staggering asking price Napoli set for the Nigerian this summer.
Significance
The defending champions return to familiar territory at the top of the Serie A table. Frosinone showed heart in taking the early lead, but were ultimately no match for the fine-tuned machine that is Napoli. Gli Azzurri must remain favorites to take home the Scudetto this season.
